It is part of the APO’s In Your Neighbourhood programme of classical concerts and features a chamber music masterpiece. Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Gran Partita was written to be played by more than a dozen musicians. Tickets cost $25 for adults and seniors, and $15 for students and children. Creative display Monterey Art Gallery, 5 Cook Street, Howick Until Friday, open 9.30am-5pm SHOWING at the Monterey Art Gallery until this Friday is a range of eye-catching artworks. The display, entitled Autumn Colours, includes pieces by acrylic painters Dalene Meiring and Jeri Elliot, and Rachael Errington, who works with mixed media. Meiring, of Howick, says her artistic contribution to the group exhibition examines her fascination for the warm colours of autumn and the coolness of the air. Entry is free and all works are for sale. Cello performance All Saints Anglican Church, 17 Selwyn Road, Howick Tonight, at 7pm ORGANISED by Howick musicians Katharine and Peter Watts, the Thursdays @ Seven classical concert series continues tonight. Taking the stage at All Saints Anglican Church to deliver a programme of Russian masterpieces are Columbian cellist Santiago Canon Valencia and Kiwi pianist Katherine Austin. Valencia made his public concert debut at age six and has performed with major orchestras in Latin America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Entry is by donation. Tickets cost $10 and they’re available at the door. art exhibition Green Gables Cottage and Gallery, 66 Cook Street, Howick Until June 29, open 10am-3pm Fridays to Sundays HOWICK Art Group members display a large collection of works in a group exhibition this month. The sale of works in the showcase will help support Totara Hospice South Auckland, which provides medical and nursing care for patients including the terminally ill. Artists taking part in the display specialise in mediums including oil, acrylic and watercolour paints, as well as pastels, charcoal and pencil. Entry is free and all works are for sale. Comedy night Uxbridge Creative Centre, 35 Uxbridge Road, Howick June 27, at 8pm HEADLINING the next stand-up comedy show at the public arts centre in Howick’s Uxbridge Road is award-winning Kiwi comic Ben Hurley. The 2004 winner of the prestigious Billy T Award comedy prize will be joined in the June 27 performance by Tim Batt and up- and-coming jokester Paul Douglas.
