Help them to switch off the digital screens and jump on board a whole new world of screens at UXBRIDGE’s upcoming Screen Printing class, held Wednesday, January 25 from 9am-12pm for ages eight and up. From t-shirts to tea-towels to shopping bags, attendees will discover a brand new creative outlet for their favourite designs or images, and create an awesome item or piece of clothing at the same time. Tickets cost $44 and are all-inclusive. To purchase tickets, please contact 09 535 6467. All classes are held at the UXBRIDGE Arts and Culture Centre, 35 Uxbridge Road, Howick. Become a pro at decorating cupcakes Join UXBRIDGE Arts & Culture Centre’s Cup Cake Creations class this summer and let loose on decorations with a colourful, practical tutorial on how to make a cupcake look its very best, and no doubt, taste just as good. Open to all ages, attendees will have the opportunity to master the art of making fondant cake toppers, whether they be simple, detailed, or somewhere in between. It’s a skill that can be brought out for any family party, celebration, special occasion or afternoon tea treat. Each person attending will take home at least six figurines on six cupcakes, and the choices are endless – choose from a monkey, octopus, penguin, bear, dog, monster, owl, or come up with a new invention. Held Monday, January 23, 9am-12pm. Tickets cost $44 and are all- inclusive. Holiday fun with crazy clay Get in quick for crazy clay making at UXBRIDGE these school holidays, filled with entertainment and hands-on activity! This action-packed class, suitable for kids aged six to 12 years, will teach essential clay making techniques while helping children to make their own unique items. It’s the perfect school holiday entertainment for kids who aren’t afraid to get a little messy. Attend a Monday session and have your art bisque fired, or register for a clay work and glazing session at the same time. Glazed items need to be flatter to dry in time, but will turn out a fantastic finished product. Held Friday, January 20 from 9am-12pm, or January 20 to December 20 from 1pm-4pm. Tickets cost $39 and are all-inclusive.
